Why change up?

Like I get it if what you tried wasn’t working, but if you getting that buzz and people are starting to listen? That I don’t get at all. My two prime examples:

Mac Miller - I started listening when his mixtape K.I.D.S came out. To me, that could have been an album. I even went back and listened to his old tracks because of it. Then a couple mixtapes dropped, sounded completely different. I waited til his album “Blue Slide Park” came out. Completely disappointed. It was like a whole new person was on it. I get the fact that when he dropped K.I.D.S he JUST came out of high school so he’s changing as a man. I just feel like you can follow your transition and reflect that in your music without becoming a whole new person. Whatever.

Childish Gambino - Dude is SICK. Nothing else to say. If you listen to his EP and Culdesac you’ll feel like you kind of know him personally. To me, thats super important in music. To be able to make art and have it come from something real, not something you have to make up, beautiful. My problem is with his mixtape Royalty. Not to say that it wasn’t him, but it sounded like he was trying to cater/gain respect from hip hop heads who didn’t give him the nod of approval yet. Again, why fix something that isn’t broken?

Music to me…

I’m starting to realize that in the past I liked music that I thought would make me “in”. The more I don’t give a shit and just listen to what makes me happy the more my music library grows.

Yeah, fuck it. I like what I like.

WTF?

I can’t even decide which tumblr I want to be my primary, how the fuck am I suppose to raise a family in the future? I talk so much shit about being indecisive, but yet here I am. It’s cool though.
